Independence Day

United States of America
America The Beautiful
|
O beautiful for spacious skies
|
For amber waves of grain
|
For purple mountain majesties
|
Above the fruited plain
|
America! America!
|
God shed His grace on thee
|
And crown thy good with brotherhood
|
From sea
|
To shining sea

“Farewell to Thee” – Following Hawaiian tradition, Sailors honor men killed during the
7 December 1941 Japanese attack on Naval Air Station Kaneohe, Oahu. The casualties had been
buried on 8 December. This ceremony took place sometime during the following months,
possibly on Memorial Day, 31 May 1942.

The Pledge of Allegiance
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,

May God Bless America
