Those Who Fail to Learn From History …

Wayne D. Leeper

On October 25, 1760 George William Fredrick was anointed as King George III of England. Under his reign a number of restrictions and taxes were imposed on the America colonist. Their petitions for relief, sent to the King and Parliament, fell on deaf ears. The freedom they held so dear was slowly being taken away and there was no way they were going to remain silent.  The Boston Tea Party, was carried out on the night of December 16, 1773 as a warning to the King and Parliament that the American Colonist had had enough.  They had tried the soap box and the jury box but to no avail. The only option left was the cartridge box. King George made the mistake of viewing these patriots as insignificant rabble.  When he still refused to listen to the voice of the people they resorted to the cartridge box and on April 19, 1775 the “Shot hear around the world” was fired in Concord, Massachusetts. The Americans colonist had been pushed as far as they intended to be pushed.

On November 4, 2008 Barrack Hussein Obama was elected president of the United States.  Just before the election he promised his supporters “five days from now we will fundamentally change America.” Not only that, but he also promised to “redistribute the wealth” created by the American system of capitalism. As a candidate, Obama promised the most open and transparent administration in history, yet as President everything has been done behind closed doors. In spite of his promise to place every piece of legislation on the inter-net for five days prior to passage, Congress is now voting on legislation before even taking the time to read it themselves.

His coat tails were long, sweeping into Congress men and women who would support his socialist agenda. What the average person did not realize was that the hope and change he preached was his hope to change America into a socialist nation.  Buried inside a seemingly innocuous Obama speech on community service is the ominous statement,

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, and just as well-funded.” (University of Colorado, July 2, 2008)

What would be the purpose of this force? The noble sounding objectives given are the same as Hitler used to justify his brown shirts in the 1930’s.  Believing he had a mandate for change, Obama entered office with a messiah complex. Having gained control of both houses of congress, he immediately began pushing his socialist agenda on the American people. When he was elected America was facing an economic downturn. He and his congressional minions conspired to change the downturn into a crisis, then used the crisis they had created to justify enacting his socialist agenda. Through a system of bail-outs they gained control over the major financial institutions as well as much of the automotive industry. Now they are working to take over health care and talking about the need to control executive pay, not only for companies bailed out, but any company subject to government regulation.

On April 15, 2009 the patriotic sons and daughters of America once again held Tea Parties across this great land.  These non-violent protest were intended to remind our federal government that the American people will take only so much.  Our voices have fallen on deaf ears in Washington, and Obama, along with his minions, considering the voice of the people to be that of insignificant rabble, labeled us as right-wing nuts and domestic terrorist.   Congressional leaders bribed and bartered with their Democratic minions to force a socialist agenda on the American people, whether the people liked it or not.  Like our founding fathers, the American patriots have been pushed as far as we intended to be pushed.    In their wisdom our founders left us a fourth option, the ballot box, which is the most powerful weapon in our arsenal.  Just as before, the revolution began in Massachusetts, with the special election held in on January 19, 2009 being the opening shot of Second American Revolution.

Mr. President and Congress, be assured America is, and will remain, a free people with a capitalist economy.  Our founding fathers did not establish what Ronald Reagan referred to as the “last best hope of man on earth” to have it destroyed by a few elitist in Washington, D.C.  The Second American Revolution will be completed on November 2, 2009 after which our government will once again be “Of the people, by the people and for the people.”

Mr. President, if you listen closely you may hear our founding fathers and other great leaders of America still singing, “My Country, ’tis of The, Sweet Land of Liberty.”

bw, lack of a Democrat/Republican bright line does not equal lack of a conservative/liberal bright line. I doubt very many of the Democrats in Congress call themselves liberals.
